I’m a married mom to two wonderful kids, ages 17 and 21 years old (by far my biggest accomplishment, so it’s first on the list!). My 16 year old is a junior at Porter Ridge High School. My 21 year old attended Piedmont Middle School and was then homeschooled due to health issues.

I earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree with a double major with songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating cum laude.

Before leaving the classroom to homeschool my son, I taught elementary school general music for a total of 14 years. I have teaching experience in both suburban and inner-city public elementary schools, a public high school, a private elementary school, and a private preschool. At almost every school, I taught both typical and neurodivergent students. I’ve also taught one-on-one private piano and voice lessons.

In my spare time (when I get it) I enjoy spending time with my family, music, gardening, reading, using the computer, crafts, taking care of my zoo of reptiles (and a dog), and studying rocks and minerals.
